I am so grateful that my community recognized more than 15 years of grit, merit, persistence, and hard work through this post. Careers in this industry are rarely linear. Behind every visible milestone are often years of growth, rejection, reinvention, and continuing to show up. This was a reminder that merit compounds. The work you do, the skills you build, and the opportunities you create eventually become part of your story. Sometimes one achievement represents years of choosing not to give up.

The work you put in today may not be recognized tomorrow, or even years from now, but that does not make it insignificant. Every experience, rejection, skill, relationship, and opportunity builds on the last. After more than 15 years of pursuing this path, the “aha moment” was realizing that people eventually realize the body of work behind the milestone, not just the milestone itself. Keep building, even when the outcome is not yet visible. One day, what looks like a single achievement may tell the story of everything it took to get there.
